The summer heat can be quite a challenge for most of , but thanks god there are a few ways to cool down in order to endure these temperatures.

One of the most important things to keep in mind is too drink a sufficient amount of water each day.

Our bodies really need to have that additional amount of liquids because we sweat more and therefore we loose a lot of water during the day. This loss of liquids needs to be compensated.

And I am not talking about a glass of beer when I say liquids;-)

No, I am talking about water, different sorts of tea and in between some diluted and unsweetened fruit juices like for example; A tasty glass of apple juice mixed with water.

BUT, and as might be expected.. (I can’t believe this “BUT” comes out of my mouth.) *smile*

You should not enjoy your drinks ice cold during the summer month – even though it feels good to you in the first moment.

It’s much better to drink tepid beverages – I am pretty sure I heard a slight sigh for your side;-)

Believe me, it’s true. The reason is: If you drink something that is very cold, your stomach needs to work hard to transform this cold liquid into a warm liquid.

And what do we do when our stomach is working hard? Of course, we begin to sweat. GREAT!!:-(

Not very beneficial right?

Therefore, here’s a little advice from my side: Don’t store your beverages for hours inside your fridge or even inside of your freezer and put an ice cube into your glass on top.

However, if its difficult for you to drink something warm on hot summer days, try to at least drink something tepid.

And that applies to children as well! It’s super important for your kids to drink a sufficient amount of water over the course of the entire year!

Cheers to you;-)

Enjoy this melon punch.

A refreshing Melon Punch

  • 1/2 water melon
  • 1/2 cantaloup melon
  • 300ml apple juice *sugar free*
  • 500ml water
  • 2 stalks of mint leaves
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon

Halve the melons, remove the seeds and scoop out some spheres *works best with an ice cream scooper.*

Rinse the mint and shake it dry. Give the melon spheres into a glass bowl and add water and the apple juice. Squeeze the lemon and the orange and add the juice into the bowl. Carefully stir, add the mint stalks and serve.

That’s about it.;-)
